Success History

We have a long and successful history in developing novel materials to meet challenging needs. Our patented membrane technology was quoted as one of the major breakthroughs in the membrane research community (Euromembrane 1999).

Bringing our expertise to the industry, we partner with our customers to develop highly specialized solutions. Through stage development process, we developed a customized material recovery system that slashed 40% of the cost with over $1 million potential annual saving to our customer. The system helped our customer realized their waste reduction goal.

Hydrogen Separation - MembraGuardTM Technology

The patent pending MembraGuard technology uses a sulfur-resistant thin film coating to protect the membrane against common contaminants in the gas stream for hydrogen purification. This coating material is inert to most chemicals to ensure protection against sulfur species and other contaminants. Its sulfur resisting power is at least 10x over the competitors’. The surface coating is permeable to hydrogen and is ultra thin to ensure high hydrogen permeability. MembraGuard can be applied to oil and natural gas refineries and coal gasification where high temperature operation is preferred because the operating temperature is consistent with upstream gas exit temperature. Expected benefits of this technology include:

  • High protection against sulfur and common contaminants in gas stream.
  • Produces high purity hydrogen with high throughput for high efficiency.
  • Membrane is robust and stable to ensure low maintenance.
  • Allows membrane technology to be used to provide the most economical solution.
